Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - 8:30 pm - 9:00 am

Job Summary:
Assists with packaging activities while following GMP’s and all the requirements described in the company’s HACCP plan for SQF compliance, sanitation, traceability requirements, and quality standards. Performs basic responsibilities ranging from organizing inventory, preparing items for shipment, working with others on a production line, staging packing material or Finished goods, packaging, cleaning their workstation, and other associated responsibilities as given by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all the safety and cGMP’s guidelines as indicated by Company’s Food Safety and Quality Programs.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Operate and monitor packaging machinery in compliance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
• Report any Food Quality /Food Safety Issue or concern to your supervisor.
• Perform equipment setup, adjustments, and changeovers according to production schedules and product specifications.
• Conduct regular quality checks of packaged goods to ensure they meet established standards.
• Monitor the production process, follow production guidelines and specifications.
• Monitor Packaging materials and supplies and replenish as needed.
• Report any machine failure and describe appropriately the frequency and type of failure.
• Monitor chocolate chipping line
• Bag finished product
• Monitor the metal detector
• Place finished product on pallet and move finished product to warehouse with manual hand jack.
• Assist chocolate associate with assembly and disassembly of machinery
• Operate and understand how scale system works

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School graduate or GED (General Education Development) preferred
• 1 year of packing work experience (Food processing facility preferred).
• Medium work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
• Must be able to stand for up 8 hours
• Capable of extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Capable of working with Fingers (pick up bars)
• Ability to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm
• The worker must be able to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels, possesses the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
• Must have the visual ability to perform visual inspections involving small defects and to distinguish colors.
• Capable of expressing or exchanging ideas through spoken word
• Capable of bending the body downwards and forward by bending at the waist
• Capable of bending the body downwards and forward by bending leg and spine
• Must be able to move about on foot to accomplish tasks.
• The worker is subjected to hazards: moving mechanical parts such as conveyors
• Must be able to work in refrigerated environment. 
• Must stand for sustained periods of time.
• Must be able to go up and down stairs.
