We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our client’s team as an Assistant Bookkeeper in Jersey City, NJ. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, possesses strong organizational skills, and is committed to maintaining accurate financial records.
Full-time Onsite Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate: $22/hr
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9 am - 6 pm / Friday, 9 am - 1 pm
Key Responsibilities: • Organize and file paperwork, invoices, and financial documents
• Match customer and vendor payments to deposits and transactions in the bank
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with account reconciliation
• Enter, update, and manage financial data in QuickBooks
• Prepare basic financial reports as needed
• Assist with general administrative and bookkeeping tasks
Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and Outlook
• Some experience with QuickBooks is strongly preferred • Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented individual
• Self-starter who can manage tasks independently
• Strong basic math and analytical skills
