Vehicle Systems Quality Tester

Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour
Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Occasional Saturdays required based on production volume)
Job Summary
In this position, you will stand at a designated station on the assembly line to perform rapid, high-frequency diagnostic and visual checks on newly manufactured vehicles. Each test sequence typically takes 3 minutes per vehicle to ensure the car is ready for the next stage of production or final shipping.

Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities
- System Diagnostics: Use handheld electronic scanners to plug into the vehicle's computer system (OBDII) and verify all electronic modules are communicating without error codes.
- Functional Testing: Follow a strictly timed on-screen checklist to test vehicle systems, including interior electronics, exterior lighting, infotainment, and safety sensors.
- Visual Inspection: Conduct rapid visual audits of the vehicle’s interior and exterior for minor cosmetic defects or missing components.
- Data Logging: Accurately record pass/fail results into the plant's quality management software using a touchscreen or tablet.
- Station Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area to meet safety and "Built-In Quality" (BIQ) standards.
Requirements & Physical Demands
- Education: No High School Diploma or GED required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Lifting: Minimal lifting required (usually under 30 lbs), involving the handling of diagnostic tools or small parts.
- Reliability: Strict adherence to the 6:00 AM start time and availability for overtime or Saturday shifts as production needs dictate.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy to ensure no defective vehicles leave the station.
