JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and facility support within a food manufacturing plant. This role ensures the facility, non-production equipment, and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, sanitary, and operational condition that supports efficient production and compliance with food safety standards.

JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and facility support within a food manufacturing plant. This role ensures the facility, non-production equipment, and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, sanitary, and operational condition that supports efficient production and compliance with food safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general repairs and maintenance including carpentry, painting, and drywall within office and plant areas
- Maintain facility infrastructure such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, lighting, and employee areas (locker rooms, breakrooms, restrooms)
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize disruption to production
- Assist with minor repairs to non-production equipment and coordinate with maintenance team for larger equipment issues
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with food safety (GMP), sanitation, and safety standards
- Follow proper procedures to prevent contamination, including use of appropriate materials and cleanup practices
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
- Assist with facility improvement and continuous improvement projects
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards preferred
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (standing, climbing, bending, kneeling)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment
- Working knowledge of carpentry, and general repair techniques
