Apply to Set Painters

We are looking for experienced Set Painters to join our client’s team on a contract basis in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate has experience with spray guns and decorative painting techniques and is comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment.

Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM start time
Pay Rate: $19.00–$20.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Apply paint and specialty finishes to scenic elements, sets, props, and other fabricated pieces.
Operate HVLP spray guns and apply water-based and urethane paints.
Create decorative faux finishes, including:
- Wood graining
- Marbleizing
- Aging
- Sponging
- Rag rolling
Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, cleaning, masking, and priming.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow shop safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

Required: Experience using spray guns (HVLP).
Experience with water-based and urethane paint systems.
Proven experience creating faux finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging, and rag rolling.
Knowledge of finishing techniques and color theory.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to wear appropriate PPE while painting.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
Understanding of shop safety standards and procedures.
