We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join a high-volume, scratch kitchen in the Dallas, TX area. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high food-quality standards, and working in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of high-volume food production and culinary management experience, strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for creating exceptional food using fresh ingredients. The Sous Chef will play an active role in daily kitchen operations, including team leadership, food production, quality control, safety and sanitation, inventory, scheduling, and recipe development.

Locations: Preston Royal, Lovers Lane, Oak Lawn and Plano

Responsibilities:
  • Coach, manage, and evaluate the performance of back of house hourly team members
  • Actively manage and participate in large volume food production in a fast-paced environment, and when necessary, operate in any food preparation station in the kitchen
  • Maintain safety and sanitation procedures in compliance with local health department requirements, frequently inspecting kitchen to ensure staff compliance
  • Establish quality and food production controls to minimize food and supply waste
  • Adhere to company recipes to ensure quality of foods produced
  • Regularly check and coordinate maintenance on equipment
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with all levels of individuals in the organization
  • Develop new recipes and/or refine existing recipes
  • Fill in for Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, as needed
  • Participate in creating schedules for back of house staff
  • Proactively recognize and address safety concerns in the kitchen and dish washing area
  • Assist in coordinating and participating in the market’s periodic inventory process
  • All other duties as assigned by senior leadership
  • Occasional local travel to pick up/deliver goods

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3+ years of high-volume food production and culinary management experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Positive, optimistic, enthusiastic, and self-confident attitude  
  • Operates calmly and proactively in stressful and difficult situations
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler’s certification and TABC certification.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and is resourceful
  • Ability to exercise good independent judgement
  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions to handle employee conflicts
  •  Well-organized, with proven ability to meet timelines and show results through initiatives 
  •  Support and emulate the work culture, policies, procedures, and standards set by the company
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
