Job Description:
- Operate Sit-Down Forklift: Safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift to move materials within the facility, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and other storage areas with precision to prevent damage to products.
- Inventory Control: Accurately count and record inventory as materials are moved, ensuring proper documentation of stock levels.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all goods are handled and stored in a manner that preserves their quality and integrity.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, such as inspections and battery charging, to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Workspace Maintenance: Keep the warehouse or manufacturing space clean and organized, including removing debris and maintaining clear aisles.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications
- High diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years forklift experience.
- Valid forklift certification/license is a plus
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and withstand prolonged periods of sitting and operating the forklift.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
