Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Home Remodeling Services

As they continue to grow and expand, they are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their team and elevate the business’s day-to-day operations to the next level.


Position Overview:
The COO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standard. Working closely with the leadership team and the family, the COO will manage operations, optimize processes, and lead the company’s efforts in maintaining quality and customer satisfaction. This role will be key in driving the company's growth while maintaining its strong family values. The ideal candidate will have a passion for construction, operational excellence, and working within a family-oriented environment.

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Administration:
  • Lead and manage all internal departments, including design, project management, sales, and operations.
  • Develop and implement company strategies to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Drive performance and productivity while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Team & Contractor Management:
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and management of team members.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with contractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and timely project completion.
  • Manage contract negotiations and performance reviews of contractors.
  • Project Oversight:
    • Oversee the progress and completion of all basement finishing projects, ensuring they meet company standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure all necessary permits are acquired and compliant with local regulations.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Budget & Financial Oversight:
    • Develop and manage budgets for projects, ensuring cost-effective strategies.
    • Monitor cash flow, resource allocation, and project expenditures to maximize profitability.
  • Client Relations & Business Development:
  • Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Represent the company in meetings, with clients, and at industry events.
  • Assist in business development efforts to expand the company’s client base.
 
 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven experience as a COO, or in another executive leadership role within construction, home improvement, or a similar industry.
  • Strong background in project management, construction administration, or basement finishing.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams, departments, and contractors efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of permit regulations, design requirements, and building codes.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Budgeting, financial management, and business development experience.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Familiarity with software tools for project management and budgeting.
  • Experience in customer relations or business development within the home improvement industry.
